What is the power of orange peel?
The ingredient that helps to remove dull deposits from glass is citric acid. There is enough of it in the orange peel to remove lime residues, traces of soap suds, and other similar contaminants. The substance gently destroys the deposits, which are then washed off with plain water. The glass becomes clear and shiny again.
Another advantage is that orange peel contains d-limonene, a natural essential oil. It has a pleasant odor and, according to some reports, helps fight bacteria. That is, cleaning with orange peel can be beneficial in many ways.
How to clean glass with orange peel
It is very easy to take advantage of this product. Start by filling a large bowl or kitchen sink with warm water. Then put the peels of 1-2 oranges in this water and let it steep for 15 minutes. Soak the wine glasses, glass cups, and plates in the resulting infusion for another 15-20 minutes. Finally, wipe the glass with the orange liquid with a sponge, rinse the dishes with running water and dry them - it is the water droplets that leave the most traces of lime on the surfaces. Microfiber cloths are the best for this task. It not only absorbs moisture effectively, but also polishes the glass to a shine without leaving scratches.
