The biggest mess in the bathroom is not caused by chaotically arranged things, but by lime stains from hard water. Dealing with them can turn into a living hell if you don't know a few simple tricks.

OBOZ.UA has learned how to use a detergent to overcome the problem of a cloudy film on plumbing. This detergent is sodium tetraborate, also known as borax or borax. It is usually added to laundry to soften the water and enhance the cleaning properties of the detergent. This means that borax also helps to break down mineral deposits.

To use the sanitary ware cleaner, lightly sprinkle sodium tetraborate powder on your sink or shower, let it work for 5-10 minutes, and then wipe off hard water stains with a damp towel. During this time, the mineral cleaner should destroy all deposits and easily make the plumbing clean and shiny.

Various borax solutions will be no less effective against lime. So, to remove hard water stains from the toilet bowl, mix 1 cup of borax with 1 cup of vinegar. Pour this solution into the toilet and leave it for a few minutes. The substances should react with the release of foam and hissing. During this chemical process, they will actively destroy traces of hard water. Finally, you will need to clean the toilet with a brush and rinse it well with water.

A borax-based paste is well suited for cleaning tiles. Add a little vinegar to the mineral powder to make a thick substance. Apply it to stubborn stains on the grout or tile and leave it on for 15 minutes, then wipe off the residue and rinse the area with water.

To protect your bathtub from lime stains in the future, periodically treat the most problematic areas with an aqueous solution of vinegar or citric acid. And don't forget to wipe all surfaces dry after use, because it is water stains that leave lime marks.
