The topic of losing weight is gaining popularity ahead of the summer season. Many comments from experts or ordinary users appear on the web, telling about life hacks that will help you quickly lose weight. Ukrainian fitness trainer Viktor Mandziak refuted the most popular myths that appear among these tips.

It is not necessary to walk 10,000 steps every day, and you can have dinner at seven in the evening. The nutritionist debunked fakes about weight loss in his interview for "Painful Topics".

You can eat after 18:00

Viktor Mandziak explained that our body burns 75% of calories at rest: "When you go to bed, not only your muscles don't work, but your whole body, like a stove."

According to him, you can have dinner at 21:00. The main thing is not to have nighttime snacks, because it can turn into an eating disorder.

"Our body specially increases the level of the satiety hormone leptin at night to keep us full. When a person wakes up at night and eats, it's not normal," the expert said.

Walking 10,000 steps every day is useful, but not necessary

The fitness trainer noted that 7,000 steps a day is the minimum level of activity that has a positive impact on a person's health and body shape. He added that not walking will not affect weight gain: "Theoretically, a person can not move at all. If they do not overeat, they will not gain extra pounds."

There is no need to drink 2 liters of water a day

Viktor Mandziak said that the widespread myth that the body needs 2 to 2.5 liters of water daily arose from research that showed that a person loses this amount of fluid on average during the day. As a result, the concepts have been substituted.

"We are told that we have to drink two and a half liters of water, but in reality, we have to get about 2.5 liters of water from different sources," explained the trainer.

According to his estimates, our body produces about 300 grams of water during biochemical processes, 700 grams we get from food, and another 700 grams from drinks. That is, to maintain fluid balance, we need to drink another 800 ml of pure water.

The right snacks for weight loss are acceptable

Your refrigerator should contain foods from all groups: vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, dairy products, cereals, cereals, legumes, nuts, and seeds. According to the expert, food should be as varied as possible. However, if you are prone to being overweight, it is better not to keep high-calorie foods at home.

"I don't mind a snack as a planned meal. If I have a lot of time between breakfast and dinner, and I don't have time to have a proper lunch, I'll take an apple. This is normal. I'm against "food piggishness", eating on impulse," said Viktor Mandziak.
