The starting point for this trend is cinema and TV series from the 2000s to the present day, especially movies for teenagers. Striking examples include the witches' outfits from The Conjuring, the costumes of the three formidable Sanderson sisters in Hocus Pocus, or Jessica Lang's perfectly tailored black costumes in "American Horror Story: Coven".

In the collective imagination, the witch is as fascinating as she is terrifying. No doubt, because of the image attributed to her by mass culture.
