Despite the fact that the French manicure has long been a classic, more and more beauties are trying to add their own charm to the design. And, according to Rianna Basurto, marketing specialist at Bellacures nail salon, the most trendy way to do this is to use glitter.

"French manicure will always be in trend," the expert admitted, according to Women. "Glitter design is a fun take on the classic mani because it brings a festive feel in a low-key but stylish way.

Long nails – more glitter

Long nails are a great canvas for a sparkly French manicure. The almond shape will help to cope with the additional portion of shiny material at the tips.

Shiny minimalism

If you're going for subtlety, instead of dramatic or dark glitter, add a thin, shiny line to the tips of your nails. A basic silver or muted gold will do the trick, as the color is neutral and goes with everything. This look is perfect for short nails.

Combination with classics

This option is for those who do not want to deviate from the classic French manicure. One way to give your nails a discreet effect is to keep the white tips ultra-thin by adding a small amount of glitter. Even though the glitter will not be visible to the eye from a distance, it will give your tips a brighter look.

Bold colors

A bright pink or neon glitter stripe will instantly draw attention to your claws and add personality to the trend. It's also great for those who have short nails but still want to make a design that's really noticeable. Feel free to play with the color you like. If you can't find a shiny colored polish, paint the tips with a solid color and apply an ultra-thin layer of clear shimmer on top.

Dark sophistication

Just because the tips of a French manicure are traditionally white, it doesn't mean you can't change the color when glitter is added. Dark gold or brown glitter can give this mani a mysterious touch. The contrast between the dark, glittery tip and your mostly translucent pink nail is subtle enough to make a statement on its own, no matter what clothes you pair with it.

Shiny lines

A shiny gold stripe on a champagne-colored French nail offers the perfect combination of femininity and sophistication. The centered position of the line emphasizes the length of your nails. You decide what you want to do when it comes to the shade of glitter and the thickness of the line.

Double French

Who said there has to be color on the tip of a French manicure? If you want to add a little fun to the classic, create a double line with glitter, but don't fill in the middle.

Glitter on the bottom

Applying glitter to the bottom of the nail is an interesting way to change the usual design on the tips of a typical French manicure.

Shiny thin layer

A glittery French manicure doesn't have to be all about shine. The glittery shade can be applied not only to the nail bed, but also over a traditional, neutral manicure for a subtle sparkle.

Glitter nail art

If you don't like glitter but still want a subtle hint of sparkle, you can go for curl nail art. This will add sophistication to the design, making your nails look extremely expensive.
