How to make any lipstick long-lasting: an ingenious life hack
Finding a long-lasting lipstick with a rich color is a challenge with an asterisk. The right lipstick will create a bright accent and can even visually make your lips look plumper.
A life hack that will help to improve the durability of regular lipstick is gaining popularity online. The famous actress and singer Sabrina Carpenter told us about a method that has long been used by world celebrities.
The advice is quite simple and budget-friendly. You don't have to spend money on expensive brands, which, to be honest, often only promise a long-lasting, lasting effect, but in practice, it turns out differently. The pigment either fades, rolls off, or - if you have mature skin - gets clogged in small wrinkles near the lips, creating a rather unattractive effect.
Step-by-step instructions
- After you've applied your lipstick as usual, simply take a tissue and gently place it on your lips.
- Pick up a little powder on a brush and apply it to the napkin (and indirectly to your lips).
- The idea behind this life hack is that the powder will set the lipstick, and you won't have to deal with the dreaded slipping or bleeding of pigment onto your teeth, as is often the case with bright lipsticks.
The point is also that powder absorbs oil, blurs imperfections, and provides a matte finish.
You can even apply the powder directly to your lips without a tissue, gently tapping with a brush. This will result in a smooth, matte film that will lock in the lipstick.
If for some reason you don't like setting powder, there are other methods of setting lipstick. The main thing is to prepare your lips properly. It is worth doing a soft peeling and mask. You should also buy a lip primer to provide additional protection and moisturizing. Both powder and matte lipstick can worsen chapped lips, so be sure to use a moisturizing balm.
Makeup artists also suggest making a rich and flavorful gloss from improvised ingredients. You will need petroleum jelly, olive oil, aloe vera gel, and color pigments. Read more about how to make homemade lip gloss, as well as other life hacks that will ensure makeup durability in the article.
