For 7800 UAH: Olena Zelenska dressed in an embroidered shirt from a Ukrainian brand on Independence Day
First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska and her husband, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, visited St. Sophia Cathedral to pray for the soldiers of the Armed Forces and the victory over Russia. On Independence Day, the elected leader traditionally wore an embroidered shirt from a Ukrainian brand.
This year, the first lady chose the Aneta shirt from the Acorn collection by Gunia Project. According to the brand's website, the price of this model is 7800 UAH.
"A joint prayer for our country, proclaimed by representatives of churches and religious organizations. Today we pray for our country and the soldiers who defend it, for the Ukrainian victory," the presidential couple wrote on their social media.
Volodymyr Zelensky entered the church wearing a khaki shirt with black embroidery, while his wife chose a light shade to symbolize her belief in a better future.
The design of her shirt is inspired by animalistic and floral motifs from embroidered towels of the 18th century Naddniprianshchyna and 19th century Sumy region.
The First Lady complemented the look with a wide belt with traditional embroidery and straight black pants. Her outfit looked restrained and festive.
The couple also honored the memory of the fallen soldiers and laid flowers at the Wall of Remembrance of the Fallen for Ukraine at St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery.
Earlier, OBOZ.UA wrote that the day before, Olena Zelenska took part in the National Legend of Ukraine award ceremony in a businesslike look with a stylish embroidered shirt.
