It's safe to say that no one wants to look "cheap" on purpose when creating an outfit. Regardless of how much you spend on clothes, your goal is most likely to look stylish and put together.

Experts from the fashion publication Who What Wear shared their recommendations. In particular, the experts named the things to avoid as they will "cheapen" your look.

No: Patent leather shoes

Yes: Ballet flats with mesh

"Maybe it's because they're so plastic, or because so many mass market sellers have tried to imitate designer models, but I'll never be a fan of patent leather shoes," says Deputy Editor-in-Chief Maxine Eggenberger. Instead, I prefer mesh ballet flats, which will be popular this season."

No: Ripped jeans

Yes: Whole jeans

"I used to wear ripped jeans a lot, but last year, when I bought a pair without scratches, I realized that they look much more chic," says Flory Alexander, acting editor of the site.

No: Multicolored bags

Yes: Two-color bags

"Last year, we saw a lot of multicolored or ombre bags take center stage," says magazine editor Remy Farrell, "Much more chic is the trend of two-tone bags. It looks upscale at any price."

No: Pencil skirt

Yes: Pleated skirt

"A pencil skirt can emphasize unwanted areas, which always looks a little cheap," says Eggenberger. "Instead, I think pleated midis, which seem to be back again this season, look much more sophisticated.

No: Butterflies on clothes

Yes: Floral motifs

"I understand that it's a trend that came from the 90s and 2000s, but for me, butterfly tops and other things with them will always look a little cheap," says editor-in-chief Hannah Almasi. "No matter how expensive the piece may be, it just brings back too many teenage memories. Instead, I prefer the bouquet trend, which has persisted over the past few seasons."
