You didn't even notice: 5 Princess Diana-inspired looks of Kitty Spencer. Photos
As a child, Lady Kitty Spencer, niece of Princess Diana, was in the shadows. The media rarely wrote about her. Only here and there was she mentioned as one of the guests at events where aristocrats gathered. When she grew up, she became a real fashion icon: she successfully combines hats with dresses and pumps, and suits with jewelry and bags... This is how Kitty managed to win the favor of fashionistas all over the world. Now she is an ambassador of the Bvlgari jewelry brand and a guest of honor on the Dolce & Gabbana catwalks.
If you look at some of Kitty Spencer's outfits, you will notice a certain resemblance to Lady Di's looks. It seems that the model often gets inspiration from her late aunt. Read more in the article by OBOZ.UA.
1. Tulle dress
In April 1985, Lady Di arrived at the La Scala Opera House in Milan as part of her royal tour of Italy. She wore a pink maxi dress with bows on the straps, a square neckline and a low waist. The princess stylized her look with a diamond tiara, pearl necklace, bracelet, earrings, silver shoes and a clutch.
In June 2018, Lady Kitty Spencer attended the Bvlgari Dinner & Party at Stadio dei Marmi in Rome. The aristocrat almost completely repeated the look of her aunt: her long dress is also decorated with layers of tulle, has bows on the straps and a low waist. The look was completed with a set of massive bracelet, earrings and necklace.
2. Dresses with a wave collar
In October 1981, Princess Diana was captured by photographers after giving a speech in Cardiff. The aristocrat wore a long, translucent blue dress with flowing sleeves and a collar and a silk ribbon at the waist. She complemented her look with a set of sapphire jewelry and a brown clutch.
In July 2018, Princess Diana's niece decided to partially copy this iconic look. In London, she attended a Bvlgari party in a dress of a similar cut and with an active floral pattern. She styled it with chunky rings, earrings, a bracelet and a brown mini bag.
3. Off-the-shoulder dress
In November 1987, Lady Di wore a gorgeous black off-the-shoulder maxi dress by Victor Edelstein on one of her German tour dates, complemented by a black clutch and precious jewelry. It seems that Kitty Spencer liked the cut of this outfit and the way it was styled. In May 2018, she attended the Bvlgari FESTA gala dinner at Banqueting House wearing emerald jewelry and an elegant midi dress with a similar neckline.
4. Red maxi dresses
In June 1997, Princess Diana attended a gala dinner in Washington, D.C., to raise funds for the American Red Cross. She wore a long, bright red sheath dress with a neckline by Jacques Azagury. She completed the look with red shoes, simple styling and massive pearl earrings.
Kitty Spencer created a similar look, but slightly modernized it in terms of cut. In September 2016, she arrived in Florence for the Celebrity Fight Night charity event in a bright red trumpet dress (the hemline widens smoothly from below). She complemented it with laconic silver jewelry with a ruby and a silver clutch.
5. Black dresses with bows
In September 1989, the Princess of Wales chose a beaded off-the-shoulder lace maxi dress by Bellville Sassoon for a charity concert at the Barbican Center in London. A black silk bow and chunky earrings added an extra accent to Princess Diana's graceful neck, while a black clutch emphasized her snow-white arms.
Kitty Spencer prefers shorter outfits. That's why in September 2016 she attended the 20th anniversary of Jimmy Choo and the Pret-a-Portea book launch at the Berkeley Hotel in a mini dress of a similar style to her aunt's. The look had a similar bow, floral patterns, and contrasting collar and sleeve bottoms.
