Artificial freckles look better when they are not too perfect. Famous makeup artist Melissa Gurkman tells us how to make fake freckles that will create pretty accents on the face.

Before you start creating artificial freckles, you should finish your daily makeup. If you try to draw freckles before the foundation, they will smudge or be completely covered by the foundation.

But note that if you have fair skin, the pencil you usually use to highlight your eyebrows may be a bit too dark. For freckles, you should start with an eyebrow pencil shade that is a shade or two deeper than your skin tone.

Artificial freckles will look more natural if you don't try to control their location. Apply the specks to the parts of your face that are naturally exposed to the sun, focusing on the cheekbones, nose, and forehead. Freckles do not have to be symmetrical. Experts recommend working quickly and doing two or three spots at a time.

• Hide a pimple by making it look like a freckle. To create artificial freckles from a rash, apply foundation or concealer. Then use a regular eyebrow pencil or liquid eyeliner. Set the result with powder.

• Make sure your skincare routine is done correctly to create a healthy base for your fake freckles. They will stay on better when your face is clean and well moisturized.
• Be sure to use a moisturizer with SPF.
• Lightly apply bronzer to the parts of your face where you plan to draw artificial freckles – this will help them blend in with your skin.
• Apply translucent powder after foundation to make your artificial freckles last longer.
