It's all about self-esteem. The stylist voiced an interesting version of why people are afraid to throw away old-fashioned things
How often, when going through your closet, have you looked at clothes from a few years ago and put them back on the shelves instead of sending them to the trash or giving them to good hands? As Ukrainian stylist Inna Hrynenko explains, this problem is self-esteem.
The woman wrote on InstaStories that on a subconscious level, old things give you confidence. And it, in turn, is an important component of self-esteem.
"Do you know why people are afraid of/do not want to get rid of old things? No, it's not because they don't understand what's okay and what they need to say goodbye to. And it's not because of finances, because we can always find money for what we really want. On a subconscious level, old things give you confidence because they used to work, but everything has changed, and the old things don't work anymore. That's why self-esteem doesn't allow us to let go of the past because it was good!" explained Inna Hrynenko.
She suggested looking in your closet to understand your self-esteem. It turns out that it's enough to look at the clothes you wear at home.
Do you know the easiest way to determine your self-esteem? One of the ways! Look at your home clothes and underwear! They will tell you everything. After all, these are things that only you or your family can see. And this tells you how much you value yourself! You, not others! Because let's be honest with ourselves! If we have cool home clothes, and not grandpa's underpants, etc., then we are going out for ourselves! But if we are "whatever" at home and "queen" on the street, then you know it's self-deception," she continued.
That's why Inna Hrynenko called for getting rid of old things that have long outlived their usefulness.
