How to contour your face like the stars: makeup artist tips
Every time we look through photos from social events, we wonder how the stars manage to look so good. One of the main secrets of their makeup is proper contouring.
Makeup artist Mary Phillips explained on her TikTok how to achieve the same effect on your own. She's known for working with Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber, and Jennifer Lopez, so she knows how to create the perfect base.
Her approach is to lay down contour lines as if you were laying bones under the skin. Where you want to visually create a protrusion, as if it were a convex part of a bone, make a light line and draw the depressions with a darker color.
Take a creamy contouring product, but a bronzer will also work. Apply it on the sides of the forehead and above the eyebrows, under the cheekbone, on the lower jaw, and on the nose, and then carefully blend these lines. This will create the shadows you need.
Next, use a light shade to highlight the parts that should stand out visually. To do this, put a little concealer under your eyes and on the back of your nose. And finally, apply blush to give your face a fresh look. Your flawless look is ready.
