Celebrities have revived this nostalgic '90s fashion trend, and social media is proof of that. Accessories like piercings and butterfly hair clips are back in fashion, but now it's time for a cotton headband.

Many stars have been inspired by Cher Horowitz and Dionne Davenport from the 1995 movie Clueless, pulling their hair back with a comfortable headband in the height of summer. For example, 31-year-old singer Selena Gomez was first seen wearing one of the trendy headbands in her music video Love On, which was released back in February this year, the NY Post reports.

The star continued to revive the trend in a series of selfies posted on her Instagram stories in early July. The actress complemented a chic strapless dress with a headband while heading to a private beach party with her boyfriend Benny Blanco. Gomez's fan account even posted a childhood photo of the star wearing the exact same hair accessory. The only difference is that the picture was taken more than 20 years ago.

But Gomez is far from the only celebrity to join the trend. Model Olivia Culpo, 32, shared photos of herself supporting her rugby player husband Christian McCaffrey during a game in a black cotton headband on Instagram.

Meanwhile, model Lori Harvey was spotted in a classic sporty look, accessorizing it with black sunglasses and large hoop earrings.

Models Kaia Gerber, Kendall Jenner, and Nicola Peltz Beckham are among the other stars who have turned the cotton headband into one of the hottest trends of 2024.
