BB, CC and foundation: which product to choose for perfect makeup
The modern cosmetics industry offers many types of skin tinting products. In general, they can be divided into three groups: foundations, BB creams, and CC creams, and they are suitable for different tasks and different makeup looks.
To figure out which product is best for you, you need to better understand their features. OBOZ.UA has collected recommendations from makeup artists who have tested all three types of products in practice. According to them, foundations offer a wider selection of colors and shades, while BB and CC usually contain various skin care ingredients, but are presented in a limited range.
Foundation
This is the largest group of products that come in a variety of shades, formulas, and with different degrees of coverage and finish. However, they rarely contain truly effective skin care ingredients. Roughly speaking, foundations can be called purely decorative cosmetics. But they allow you to choose a variant for different skin needs, coverage density, and complexion. And you can always find something exactly to suit your needs.
BB cream
The abbreviation BB stands for beauty balm. Usually, the formula of such a product creates a transparent coating, but at the same time corrects certain nuances of the tone. In addition to the decorative effect, BB creams care for the skin, moisturize it, and create a tint. The finish of such a product can be from damp to naturally matte. It is usually recommended to apply them with your fingers. This product is best suited for dry or normal skin.
CC cream
In the name of this product, the letters CC stand for color correcting. They are aimed at evening out skin tone. Their coverage density is higher than that of BB creams, and they create a finish ranging from natural radiance to matte. As a rule, they are even more enriched with care components. But the range of shades in this group of products is even more limited. However, they are able to adapt to the natural skin tone. CC creams are great for those who want to apply the product with their fingers and want a denser coverage of problems such as dark spots, redness, or discoloration.
